Nestled in Rwanda’s northern highlands, the Abakunda Kawa Rushashi Coffee Cooperative is home to the Hinga Kawa Women’s Group, part of the global Café Femenino movement. Located between 1,700 – 1,900 meters in elevation, this community has turned coffee cultivation into a source of empowerment, reconciliation, and growth.
The women of Hinga Kawa – both Hutu & Tutsi – chose to make poverty their common enemy, healing divisions left by Rwanda’s tragic past. Grown in the Gakenke District, Northern Province, this delicious Bourbon Mayaguez is fully washed.
The Cup: Bright sparkly lemon notes, with undertones of caramel and hibiscus.
